I want to find out how many public pension funds are in the state of
Illinois and how much money they manage (total). If possible I would
like a list of all of them. Thank you!

Can you explain abit more about what you mean by "public pension funds".

It's possible to generate a list of the pension funds in Illinois that
are overseen by the federal-government mandated Pension Benefit
Guaranty Corporation. Is this what you're after.

The list identifies companies, but as far as I can see, does not
provide information on amounts held in the funds.

I look forward to hearing back from you on this.

I am looking for all public employee benefits that are subject to the
Illinois Pension Code. An example of such entities is the Public
School Teachers'Pension and Retirement Fund of Chicago. Just FYI, I
would only be interested in funds over 1 billion dollars. Hope this
helps. Please come back to me if you need my help.
Thank YOu!

jek405-ga,

The "clarify" message you received sounds like it may have just been a
hiccup in the system.

As for progress on your question, I've located a small list of public
pension funds in Illinois:

Public School Teachers Pension & Retirement Fund of Chicago

State Universities Retirement System of Illinois

Illinois State Teachers' Retirement System
Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund
Illinois Public Pension Fund Association (IPPFA)

State Retirement Systems of Illinois:
-General Assembly Retirement System
-Judges Retirement System
-State Employees' Retirement System

and I'm trying to determine how comprehensive (or not) this might be.
I'll elt you know if I find anything more.
