Do you have an Alcatel Winmodem?  If so, try unplugging it and
deleting or moving to a safe place all the "alcacr" file you find
under the c:\windows or c:\winnt folder tree.

These files may include:

alcaw16.dll
alcaw32.dll
alcaudsl.sys
alcacr95.sys
alcacrnt.sys
alcawh95.sys
alcawhnt.sys
valcacr.vxd
