Hi emyo-ga,

After searching on and off for most of the morning, I have found some
information on your beautiful Belleek cup and saucer in a seashell
motif.

Old and Sold Antiques:
http://www.oldandsold.com/cgi-bin/auction.cgi?belleek&1025534679
has one for auction until Mon Jul 1 10:44:39 2002 (EST). It is the
pattern called “Nautilus”. The current bid is $30, with a notation
that the reserve has not yet been met. There are nice photos,
including one of the bottom of the cup showing the mark. I compared
the picture with the excellent listing of all of the Belleek marks
at:
 http://www.someonespecial.com/cgi-bin/SoftCart.exe/belleek.html?E+scstore

It appeared to match the one labeled “Sixth Mark” (which indicates
production between 1965 and 1980), so I emailed the seller and she
verified that it was the Sixth Mark (after I referred her to the
pictures of the marks on the above-referenced page). She also
verified that it has a gold lustre coloring inside the cup. She
indicated that it had been appraised several years ago for $80, so
this may give some indication of what the reserve might be. She also
sent me a follow-up email indicating that she has now added the
definite identification of the mark as the “Sixth Mark” to her
website.

ADDITIONAL LINKS:

Unforgettables:
http://www.unforgetables.com/porcelain/belleek/belleek_030.htm
has one for sale with the second green mark (Fifth Mark) 1955-1965
mint, no chips, cracks, crazing or restorations, cob lustre interior
for US$100. Although this is not the mark you requested, it may help
to determine a price for the “Sixth Mark” cup.

Belleek also manufactured another pattern with shells in the motif,
but it does not appear to have the gold coloring inside the cup. Here
is the listing for that cup.

Go Antiques:
http://collectibles.goantiques.com/texis,irish_belleek_shell,3c46303d4a.html
Belleek “Shell Pattern” cup & saucer for sale, and they specify that
it is Sixth Mark. The price is US$95.

I hope that this information helps you acquire this lovely cup &
saucer. If you need any additional information or clarification,
please let me know.

Regards,

Beth

Thank you, emyo-ga for the kind words. I can understand why you would
be heartbroken at having such an exquisite thing broken. It would be a
luxurious indulgence to sip coffee or tea from something so beautiful.
Enjoy, and you're very welcome!

cup and saucer which was broken recently. Thank you, thank you, thank
you!!!!
