Question ID: 333392
I have a "Visdalen" queen bed from IKEA, purchased in early 2000. It
is white with paneling at the head and footboards. When recently
moving across the country, my movers lost all of the screws to the
bed. I called IKEA and they informed me that they no longer have any
screws for the bed and also no longer have a copy of the instructions
which would tell me exactly what dowels, bolts etc I would need. What
I am looking for is either a source that sells IKEA screw sets or a
description of all of the screws and whatnot that I could pick up at
my local hardware store. Thanks!

Hi sedriss-ga,

I was in a similar situation, except that in my case I had few
of the screws left intact. I could not get those from local homedepot,
but was referred to another one supposed to carry hard to find hardware
(Elliots hardware,Texas). The problem is the thread size of the screws.
I made custom screws(with bolt on heads that resembled almost the original
ones with appropriate nuts). The screws were cut out of a long threaded
rod. The good thing is that it was all done at the store without any extra
charge.

Hope this helps you.
