Hi Dogsbollocks~

Yes! In "Far & Away" (1992, directed by Ron Howard and starring Tom
Cruise and Nicole Kidman), Cruise's father dies, then suddenly opens
his eyes and grabs Cruise's arm, gives him a final word of advice,
then goes back to being dead.

The end of the film also shows Cruise dying, then coming back to life.

For more on the film, check out The Internet Movie Database:

"The Shipping News" (2001) with Kevin Spacey, Julianne Moore, Judi
Dench, and Cate Blanchett (along w/ some other recognizable faces). I
can't recall if the shot is on his face when wakes up (during a wake),
but the reaction from the other characters is as you requested
(shock).

Same site, different movie:

Don't forget "Diabolique," the stunning original with Simone Signoret.
