Hello fredisaksen~

According to the official government site for Trinidad and Tobago, the
answer is South America; see Government of the Republic of Trinidad
and Tobago, ?About Trinidad:?

The link you gave me only says that Venezuela is in South America;

"Trinidad is the most southerly of a chain of islands stretching from
Florida in the United States of America to
Venezuela in South America and enclosing the Caribbean Sea."

Hello fredisaksen~

I believe the phrasing could be interpreted the way I originally
did--or the way you did. So I have an email into the government,
asking for "official" clarification!

Hello fredisaksen~

I just wanted to let you know that I haven't forgotten about you. I am
still awaiting an answer from the government website, clarifying their
own description of Trinidad and Tobago.

Hello fredisaksen~

I'm so sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner--but, believe it or
not, I've been working on your question all this time.

The government of Trinidad and Tobago has not responded to my requests
for clarification of their website and that confusing sentence (which
could be interpreted at least two ways); in addition, the major map
makers I've contacted have not responded. It may interest you to know
that smaller reference sites (including library sites and geography
sites) agree that Trinidad and Tobago are in South America.

Nonetheless, if this answer is not sufficient, I encourage you to
write to the editors ( for information on how to do this, go to:
http://answers.google.com/answers/help.html ) and tell them that the
Answer is unsatisfactory.

Kind regards,
Kriswrite

Hi, thank you for trying! I let you keep that small amount for your inconvenience.

My opinion now is that TT belongs to the continent of America, and
the part of the continent called Carribian.
That means neither North- nor South-America.

Thank you for your generosity, fredisaken. But who would have thought
it would be such a matter of controversy!
