Izik,

Good and bad news, I am afraid. I can find you a new housing, IF the
phone is still under warrenty, OR, you carry any sort of replacement
plan on your phone. I spoe with Motorola Customer Service at
1-866-BUY-MOTO, and they told me that as a replacement part, they do
not SELL the housing for the Motorola V8160. So, there goes the
changes of an original manufacturer part.

However, if your phone is still under manufacturer warrenty, you can
contact Motorola and have them replace the damaged housing, or, in
some cases, replace the phone altogether. Here is their warrenty
guidelines for replacement.
http://commerce.motorola.com/consumer/QWhtml/warranty.html

Also, if you have an "phone protection plan" or "phone
insurance/handset insurance" through a cellular provider, they
sometimes will replace the phone or parts depending on loss, damage,
or theft. However, each plan is different, so talk to your cellular
insurance provider to find out. Some plans also have a replacement
deductable.

So, looks like you can get a housing thru insurance or warrenty for
that model of phone. The only other way you could acquire a "origial
and new" housing, according to Motorola's customer service center is
to buy a whole new model of your phone and replace it yourself, or use
it for your intended purpose. They will not send it seperate.

I'm glad we found a way to get an original housing for you, thru 1 of
those 3 options. It would be nice if it was as easy as finding the
right size screw in a bin and mailing it off. however, though getting
one is a bit more complicated, you can do it in other ways.

Silly me, I forgot my search strategy...

I did a google search for Motorola V8160 parts
://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=motorola%20v8160%20parts&btnG=Google+Search"

I then went to the Motorola Website www.motorola.com and found their
contact info, after speaking with them, I looked for the warrenty
policy through Motorola at
http://commerce.motorola.com/consumer/QWhtml/customer_service.html

I am sorry i did not mentioned that I am talking about large quantity,
say 1,000 of each part

Izik,

Then unfortunatly, the answer is that there is no way to get you one.
:) Since they don't sell them individually or in bulk, you only could
buy 1000's of the phones and strip the housing off of them. Which, in
my opinion...is not the best idea financially :) Sorry they don't make
the bulk part that you need, least we now know the answer.

This is not the answer, since i am buying them on a regular bases from
woholesalers and they run out of it.
I am looking for new sorces.

Izik,

Unfortunatly, according the the manufacturer of the phone, who holds
rights to the product design, they state that you can not buy the
housing wholesale. I'm not sure how I can further help you, as I have
spoken with numerous employees of the company and all my information
has been factually verified as correct. If in fact, you do have a
manufacturer that does supply these parts, they're not original
motorola parts, according to the company, which is what you asked for
in your question. I'm sorry I can not provide a different answer other
than that one.

We can go like that forever, i understand you canot find me the answer
and i thank you for your eforts,

However for your information, in the wholsale business usualy you can
find large quantity of original parts and equipment that the
carrier/manufacturer do not have, and in that section of the market
you should look for a better answer.

Contacting Motorola it's easy.

Thank you again.

Izik,
I wish I could be of more help to you, but I'm not sure how at this
point, being what you're telling me contradicts what the manufacturer
and the legal owner of the design tells me. However, unless I want to
delve into something which I've been told is illegal, I can give you
no other answer than the correct one from the company who owns the
rights to the product you are looking for. I have asked that my answer
be removed, and I am posting it as a comment. However, I do want to
let you know that GA policy prohibits reseachers from pointing to
illegal sources for any material, such as mp3 sharing thru P to P
networks or showing you where to find a product that the design owner
and company says it is illegal for you to acquire it in any manner. I
wish you the best of luck.
