I am interested in finding out how many copies of the best-selling
book, "The Bible Code" by author Michael Drosnin were sold worldwide.
The book was published by Simon & Schuster in the U.S. in May, 1997,
and was published by 1998 in almost every language in the world. In
addition to 1) world-wide sales, I particularly would like to know the
sales figures in 2) Japan and 3)Korea.

I have been researching this online, and making phone calls for the
last hour or so. I should have this information for you in a day or 2
at most hopefully. I have some phone calls put into Simon and
Schuster, and a list of the 12 major countried published in. I'm just
waiting on someone who can pull figures for me. Also, If S&S has a
list, is there a fax # or something I could have them fax a copy to
you as well as me getting information. and posting it here?
I'll keep on this one, and get back to you as soon as I have
anything....

According to a write-up in the The Jerusalem Post of August 1, 2000
(which I got from a non-Internet source)in an article:

"Software firm sues 'The Bible Code' author, publisher"

the company filing suit claims that:

"...the book, which has sold some 20 million copies, contains 97
printouts from the company's copyrighted software and databases, but
neither the author nor the publisher ever received the company's
permission to do so."

I didn't see any breakdowns for particular countries or languages,
though.

Hello researchbible-ga
I know that your question has expired but I received this morning a
reply from the Customer Service Supervisor of Simon & Schuster.
Here is the text of her reply
"
Good Morning,
I am the customer service supervisor and I was forwarded your email
regarding the The Bible Code.

We do not give out such information as you were asking without knowing
who
you are and what the information is for.

Please give me your need for this information."

The good news though is that they seem to have the information.
So If you are still interested you can either repost the question
(maybe specifying that it is forme) telling me what the information is
for so that I can pursue the research for you or add a comment here so
that I can tell you how to get in touch directly with this person.
