I am assuming that 'The Return of Martin Guerre' and 'Somersby'
(evidently a remake) were fiction ...

But whether they were or not ...

Are there any true (true as opposed to mere pretenders) stories around?

Please assume that the Anastasia & Titchbourne cases were untrue.

Many thanks.

Hi, Amber

Not the 'answer' I was expecting but very much better.

Many thanks!

This gives me all I wanted and I'll order a copy of the book today, on
your recommendation.

I am sure that I would enjoy it all the more if I could charge it to your account.

But, seriously, I am sorry that I cannot reimburse you for tour
Comment but, if you ever become a Researcher, I will ask you a dead
easy question, to compensate.

All the Very Best

Bryan

"The Return of Martin Guerre" is not fiction at all, but is a book by
the American academic, Natalie Zemon Davis. She researched the true
story, which is one of the few genuine history books to end up as a
musical. And its a really fascinating read. You can still get the book
from Amazon etc. Try a Google search for
"Natalie Zemon Davis" "Martin Guerre" and you can find lots of other
places to buy it.
