Someone asked me this question the other day, and I wasn't sure of the
answer myself.

I'm looking for a website or service that would allow me to create an
online "store" of sorts where the owner could upload pictures and a
customer could order photo-quality prints of the pictures in various
sizes. I could set up a whole e-commerce site with the shopping cart
and everything, but that would mean the owner would have to ship the
products herself, and would have to order them in bulk beforehand and
send them out as ordered. That's not a very practical solution in this
case, however, because she's only expecting a few customers, and she's
unsure about how many pictures or what sizes they will order.

I think the best solution would be similar to CafePress.com, where
products are manufactured and shipped out as ordered, with no up-front
costs for the seller. However, CafePress doesn't do normal picture
prints. I've looked at oFoto and Shutterfly as well, but they don't
really fit my needs (it doesn't seem like there are any options for
setting up stores or anything, but I didn't investigate the sites
thoroughly).

I don't need any picture framing or anything, just simple photo printing.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

Hi considering your requirements below:

"Website or service that would allow me to create an online "store" of
sorts where the owner could upload pictures and a customer could order
photo-quality prints of the pictures in various sizes."

"I could set up a whole e-commerce site with the shopping cart and
everything, but that would mean the owner would have to ship the
products herself, and would have to order them in bulk beforehand and
send them out as ordered."

You must see and contact some sale guy at

http://www.datalinks.nl/contact.htm

Ask them for their "Digital Photo Services" Product. I guess they
would provide you the asked product even with more management
features.

Good Luck
