I live in a building in Spain. In the appartment underneath mine is a
dog that will not stop barking untill about 1am. I am at the stage now
that I am looking for some kind of device, I guess electronic, that
will deter a dog from barking.

I am looking for a device that can work through my floor into the
neighbours apartment. Has such a device been invented yet? What is the

I am way past the talking to neighbour stage.

The anti-bark devices are in two peices: A remote that probably DOES
work through floors, and a recieving collar that the dog needs to
wear. This means you will need to talk to your neighbor, since it is
innapropriate to put an anti bark collar on someone else's dog. You
can buy them on www.drsfostersmith.com and www.petsmart.com, and
probably also on Ebay. hope this helps!

I know that guns sound rather brutal, but a gun did stop my neighbor's
dog from barking. Unfortunately it was used on the wrong party. It
should have been used on the owner. Dogs only do what they are taught
or allowed to do. Bad neighbor!

Seriously. I live in Barcelona.The second loudest city in the second
loudest country in the world. Standards on what is 'loud' here are
different than say in the US. So also is the legal position on what is
'loud' and a nuisance. Takes a seriously loud party (a riot really) ,
before the cops will come out for noise. I can file a claim and it is
minimum one year in court and its a joke.
   For me, the barking  is unbearable. I watch TV , listening through 
ear phones  loud untill 1am in order to block out the barking. As I
must get up early I am not getting enough sleep.

I didn't mean to make light of your question. I have been kept awake
most of the night by a barking dog and it is not a laughing matter. If
I find a way to help you I will certainly pass it along. Until then
you have my deepest sympathies.

If you don't mind making more noise, some dogs will be quiet if you
make a startling noise, like dropping a bunch of cans holding coins
from above your head. I found this on a web page, you might want to
