Hi, There are literally hundreds of recycling centers in the tri-state area all of which accept different types of plastics. There's no easy way to determine which centers accept which types of plastics. For NJ, you can find a complete list of all the recycling centers, plus their contact numbers by clicking on this link. http://www.state.nj.us/dep/dshw/recycle/classa.htm In the Philadelphia area you can contact any of the following recycling coordinators. Bucks County Mr. Lale Byers Planner/Recycling Coordinator Bucks County Planning Commission The Almshouse Neshaminy Manor Center Doylestown, PA 18949 215-345-3414 215-345-3886 fax e-mail: lwbyers@co.bucks.pa.us Chester County http://www.chesco.org/health/dswm1.html Delaware County http://www.co.delaware.pa.us/recycle/ The city of Philadelphia does not collect platics in its recycling program and its "Community Groups in the Partnership Recycling Program" only collects plastics #1 and #2 (your basic milk jugs and soda bottles) http://www.phila.gov/streets/recyling_partnership.html For Philadelphia County see Mr. David Robinson Philadelphia Recycling Office 1401 JFK Blvd. 780 Municipal Service Building Philadelphia, PA 19102-1664 215-686-5504 215-686-5455 fax e-mail: david.robinson@phila.gov Montgomery County Mr. Drew Shaw Recycling Coordinator Montgomery County Planning Commission Courthouse PO Box 311 Norristown, PA 19404-0311 610-278-3733 610-278-3941 fax e-mail: dshaw@mail.montcopa.org For the state of Deleware you can find general information that will also allow you to search for sites based on zip codes. http://www.dswa.com/recycle_de/recycle_de.htm Or, with the link below, you can search via of an interactive map. http://www.dswa.com/recycle_de/recycle_map.htm Additionally, the plastic numbers constitute a variety of different products. Plastic #4 (LDPE) which you asked about includes plastic bags from grocery stores. Delaware has a separate program for collecting those types of bags. They are small red containers with black tops. The description of the program says "Plastic Grocery Bags Only (Small Red Container) All colors welcome except black."
