I am looking for a place where I can buy movies DIRECTED by Emir Kusturica with Spanish subtitles. DVD or VHS format is OK. The movies I'm most interested in are "Underground", "Black Cat White Cat" and "The time of the gypsies". All these are easily found with English subtitles but not with Spanish ones. | |

"Gato negro, gato blanco" and "Underground" are available at FNAC in Spain. I assume these are subtitled versions, but I'm not certain. These are the only two Kusturica films available at this outlet. http://www.fnac.es Sorry, but the site is set up so I can't give you a direct link. Follow the DVD-Video tab, then look at the bottom of the page for a link that says "Búsqueda," the Spanish word for "search." I checked the largest Mexican video site, but its versions of the Kusturica films have English subtitles only. |

I've been able to get some more information, but not enough for a complete answer, so I'm posting this as another comment. Perhaps some other researcher can look into this more and find you more info. I did find that one of the versions of "Gato negro, gato blanco" available at FNAC is a subtitled version. The subtitled one is the one that says "V.O. subtitulada" on it ("V.O.' is the abbreviation for "versión original" or "original version"). It's not clear to me whether the version of "Underground" is subtitled. FNAC http://www.fnac.com To search, look for a link that says "búsqueda." Videolandia of Uruguay has four subtitled Kusturica films available in VHS. You'll have to use the search link ("Búsquedas") to find them. The films are "Underground," "Sueños en Arizona," "Tiempo de gitanos" and "Gato negro, gato blanco." Unfortunately, Videolandia isn't set up for foreign mail orders. But at least we know that subtitled versions of these films exist. http://www.videolandia.com One other possibility is DVD Argentina, but its search function is currently out of order. http://www.dvdargentina.com/links.php Best wishes, mvguy |

"Gato negro, gato blanco", "Tiempo de gitanos" estan disponibles en alquiler en Cinemateca Uruguay, con subtitulos en español. Además "Tiempo de gitanos" la han pasado en TV-cable. |
