... and beat it too! Greetings Researchers & Readers: Today's MyAdventureGame.com assignment is another easy one. All you need to do is play a choose-your-own-adventure-game ... and beat it! Here's the details: * The game to play is Lodin's Quest - Anamandar ( http://www.myadventuregame.com/preview.asp?G=83 ) * You must actually beat the game and leave a comment on the website (to show you were able to complete it). Beating the game is defined as reaching the "Congratulations - You've completed ..." page and actually leaving a comment * Tell me what you think of the game here in your Answer That's it! Please make sure to do all three of these things when answering this question. Also, this game is in the fantasy style (i.e., dungeons, dragons, magic, etc), so if you really hate that genre, this might not be the assignment for you. Just to let you know, I'm not the author of the game. However, I am interested what you thought of the game, as far as story line, game play, wording, etc, etc. This game really isnt that difficult and takes, on average, 15 minutes to complete. A little bit of problem solving skills may be required. ____Game Stats (on a scale of 1 to 8)___ Maturity Level: 4 - must be at least this tall to play Game Difficulty: 5 - run through the jungle ***Please, answer this question ONLY if you are able to beat the game*** As always, comments are GREATLY appreciated! Thanks! Alex P alexp@halogenstudios.com |

Hello Alex, I completed the game and left some comments using my GA handle. I found it easy, and took about ten minutes to reach the end. At its current level, I guess the game would be suitable for younger children who might not wish to spend too much figuring things out. My main comment is that you need to find yourself a skilful writer who can elaborate far more on the content. When I play a fantasy game, I want to enter into the world that it presents. I would like to see far, far more description of the scenes. For example, what does the pub look like from the outside. Is it inviting, or does it look disreputable? What are Lodin's feelings as he goes in - frightened, shy, angry? What about the clientele inside. Are there many? What do they look like? Are they noisy? What are they talking about? (good opportunity to provide important information to be overheard). Are any of them drunk? etc, etc At the moment, you are only providing a very basic skeleton structure with no description at all, so I felt I was just going through a mechanical exercise, which mainly involved remembering what I had read, rather than entering into another world and becoming involved with the character whose role I was taking. As a result, I found the game rather disappointing, and did not have any sense of achievement when I completed it. Also, you really do need someone to proofread the material and correct spelling and other errors! This is probably a sign of age, but I did find the mistakes irritating! Best of luck in future efforts |

Hello! After dying several times before beating the game, I was dissapointed that I could not resume play from a previous "check point", and also that the game didn't tell me what I did wrong. If the game is for younger children, giving the children hints as to what they could try next time would be better. Graphics of objects, monsters, or scenery could help the player dive into the game more. Overall a fun game! However, if the game is to be much longer, it would be VERY tedious to replay the entire game if you died near the end. Save points/check points would be most helpful. :) Thanks alot! Have a great one! God bless! --HanClinto |
