Hello -

Can you be more specific with regard to "CD-ROM developers?" Are you
speaking of CD-ROM hardware manufacturers, or those that develop
CD-ROM applications?

Thanks,

jbf777

Thank you for your response and request for clarification of my
question. I need a complete list of names, addresses, phone numbers
of the Director of Sales/Marketing for CD-ROM developers - developers
are defined as a company that authors and designs the content for
CD-ROM. They provide a client with designers and programmers who can
take the clients information and produce an interactive CD-ROM.

I hope this helps. If not, please ask for further clarification.
This question is very important to me and I need this list ASAP!!

Thank you.

The Hollywood Creative Directory, http://www.hcdonline.com/index.aspx,
used to publish a special "New Media" directory with this information
sorted out. Now it appears they have incorporated it into their
regular edition. You can look in the index at the back of the book
under "New Media," and it lists contacts for all the companies which
develop CD-ROMs. You can either buy the book, or subscribe to the
service on-line. I hate to claim to have answered the question, since
HCD did all the work, but would this suffice as an answer? cath-ga

I am not comfortable with buying a book and/or subscribing to an
online service for this answer. As you point out HCD has done all of
the work and I still need to go out and spend more money to get this
information. I believe that for a $100 answer, I should receive the
information on this Google service without having to go out and spend
more money and time. Also in looking thru the link you provided, I am
not convinced that my information will actually be there - they do not
offer any table of contents nor any ability to look through a sampling
of the information. As you can see from the information that I pasted
below (from that web site), it doesn't say anything about CD-ROM
authoring and design - it talks about TV and movie producers, writers,
and production companies, etc. This is not what I am looking for.

From the the HCD web site:
Over 9,900 Producers and Studio & Network Executives

Over 1,750 production companies, studios & networks

Includes addresses, phone & fax numbers, staff & titles

Credits and studio deals

Updated three times a year: mid-January - end of May - end of September

Forget paying me for the answer. I have a copy of the book- my husband
uses it to get jobs in Hollywood. I have used it to get jobs in Hollywood.
(I have written copy for edutainment CD-ROMs.) I checked the index and
there are three columns of New Media companies listed. Many of them
are "traditional" companies like Dreamworks that also do films, but
some do only CD-ROM's and Internet. Sorry my original question didn't offer
more info- I was looking at the book and didn't realize the site
wouldn't tell you more. This really is a resource you should get
if you want to develop a CD-ROM. cath-ga

there's no such thing as a 'cd rom developer' anymore... you're a
decade out of date... there's something called the "internet" that
kind of changed that... today everything that used to be cd-rom'ed is
now done in flash by web design shops. if you want to ship it on a
cd-rom, you just use a cdrom duplicating service.

you may want to first clarify what you're trying to do (or your client
is trying to do, sounds like you're a headhunter) and then someone can
try and help you
