Having blue-screen of death problem on my HP MediaCenter PC

Suddenly, I started getting intermittent blue-screen of death crashes
on my Win XP media Edition PC fro HP.

I can make it happen for sure by sticking in a CF card from my digital
camera.  I did this once and not only did it crash the machine, it
corrupted the card, and now my photos are lost.

I get this error ?rffsd.sys- page?

Then I have to hard reboot.

1  - What does this error mean?
2 ? What should I do
3 ? Is there inexpensive software to bring my pictures back?
