Can you tell me the name of a song and the artist from a late 70s to
early 80s song, it's sung by a female singer, and it's hook is "I want
and I want and I want and I want you back?"

Hi,

The most likely candidate that I can find is the Eurythmics 'Love is a
Stranger' (1983).

The lyrics are rather different:

And I want you
And I want you
And I want you
So it's an obsession

But the way Annie Lennox sings it, it could easily be mistaken for,
well, anything really.

Does this midi version jog your memory:

Let me know,

grimace

No it's not the Eurythmics song.
Thanks for the try.

I think what you're looking for is Sherry Kean's Canadian 80s classic,
"I Want You Back." http://www.canoe.ca/JamMusicPopEncycloPagesK/kean.html
