Question ID: 336213
A Researcher slipped up recently, by inadvertently revealing the REAL
NAME of a Questioner.

Worse, the Questioner was a 5-Star Celebrity: Dorothy Parker, no less.
The one who kick started the Vicious Circle. Not the sort of woman to
tangle with, I would have thought.

Anyhow, DP is evidently a member of the GA-laxy.

But what?s her handle?

The only clues are:

1: She is a woman;

2: Pinkfreud has evidently answered (at least) one of her questions.

The ?Usual Suspects? include: apteryx-ga, badabing-ga, steph53-ga,
stressedmum-ga, yesmam-ga, and birdie.

?Why birdie?? you may well ask. Well, she is the only Questioner (as
far as know) who has ever appeared ga-less. Don?t ask me why, but that
is precisely the sort of eccentricity that we might expect from DP.

Over to you ? Please identify DP?s handle.

Many thanks.

Of course, she could be a Researcher!

I'd completely forgotten that Researchers sometimes ask questions.

AND, she could even be pretending to be a man!

It appears from various Comments that a degree of bewilderment has
been feigned in some quarters.

I am not by nature a telltale but if, in your travels, you should meet
a young woman with a 'laughing face', according to Phil Silvers (Yes,
the same PS) and Jimmy Van Heusen ... then you are half way there.

And, if you should stroll across # 332064, you might go all the way.

Good Luck!

Bryan...

While I'm at a loss to identify the GA name of Ms Parker,
perhaps I can redeem myself by noting that birdie's
historic question can also be accessed when inserting as
many as, but no more than, 2022 zeros in front of the 2
in her question ID:

Surely bestowing this astonishing fact on your question
must be worth something. Perhaps a cold glass of Chardonnay?

Or perhaps a question about the implications as to how
many questions can be asked on GA, given these limitations
in the numbering system?

Best regards...

Sorry, but apparently you'll have to copy and paste that
URL into your browser. I seem to have circumstantially
discovered another limit in GA: the number of letters
which can be displayed horizontally on a page.

I leave it to the minions to discover this number, since
I worked so exhaustively to determine the URL limitations.

O, Sublime One

You are an absolute GENIUS!

How on earth did you manage to suss that out?

This is certainly worth a few crates of Chardonnay ...

Would you settle for the French stuff (from Algiers) or would you
prefer the real thing straight from the Australian vineyards (or, at
any rate, the Alice Springs chemicals plant)?

Ah, Bryan...

I see I am not the only one to burn the midnight oil.

As to the Chardonnay, I have become quite enamored of
Michel Picard's (no relation that I know of to the
Captain) offerings of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah
and Chardonnay. Of course they are made in France, but
are happily available at a good price from Trader Joe's.

Bon nuit...

O, Sublime One

I burn not the Midnight Oil.

Here in Hove (like the rest of the UK) it is already 9 a.m.

I've never understood why other countries insist on doing their own
thing time-wise. Surely, it would make life so much easier if the
World were to adopt such an excellent system.

Trust me!

In case you wondered ...

I am just setting up a system for a friend ... and, naturally, I've
introduced him to GA.

He seems very impressed!

And who wouldn't be?

Somehow, I don't think he'll be back on GA ...

Why is it that some folk are so THICK!

I shall state, for the record: (1) I am not Dorothy Parker; (2) I
might be F. Scott Fitzgerald; (3) I, too, have no idea what Bryan and
the Sublime One are talking about.

Aha, Paf ...

Parker begins with a 'P' ... right?

That is EXACTLY the sort of response that she would make!

Many thanks.

That's the second (third?) time you've called me a "she". My
masculinity is feeling very threatened?

And my name isn't pafalafa...it's pafalafaGA. The GA is essential.

Hi, Rocky (aka Bathrocks)

I cannot let you of all people remain in the dark.

I am trying to discover the handle used by Dorothy Parker, after
nancylynn-ga (in a Comment on #332064) had inadverently revealed that
Pinkfreud had answered one or more of her questions.

For obvious reasons, I have had to be VERY DISCREET and, indeed, some
folk might say, rather cryptic.

You probably won't remember a singer of yesteryear by the name of
Frank Sinatra who sang a song called 'Nancy' whose lyrics were penned
by Phil Silvers aka Sergeant Bilko, the eponymous character of a TV
series that is still shown regularly on British screens. Right?

After considerable investigation, suspicion has now fallen on Birdie
who asked 'Why is the Sky Blue', which was evidently the first
question ever asked on GA even though it carries the # 2.

Birdie is a very mysterious person because he/she did not have the
standard GA suffix to his/her handle; he/she did not rate the Answer;
etc.

Sublime1, who has been hot on the trail, has produced some amazing
research on Birdie, which he has entered as a Comment to the Question.

Dorothy Parker is well known for her versifications so, inevitably,
attention has focused on those with comparable skills. And, not
unnaturally, it has extended also to those (such as yourself) with
even greater skills.

Please, if you are Dorothy Parker, now is a good time and this is a
good place to confess.

Alternatively, if you can throw any light on the matter, you might
even be invited to join the same Vicious Circle that hovers around the
said Dorothy.

All the Best

Bryan
