What I am trying to find is where do small German companies file their
annual fincial returns. In ireland and the Uk they have to file at the
Companies Office

Is there a similar agency in Germany where I might find mobile.de returns

Dear noellie,

German companies of any size are obliged to issue an annual
documentation called "Jahresabschluss". The Jahresabschluss includes
the company's annual balance sheet (Jahresbilanz) and the income
statement (Gewinn- und Verlustrechnung, GuV-Rechnung). A
Jahresabschluss must provide a truthful image of the company's assets,
the financial situation and the result situation.
The balance sheet discloses fixed assets (Anlagevermögen), floating
assets (Umlaufvermögen), equity capital (Eigenkapital), liabilities
(Schulden) and the accruals (Rechnungsabgrenzungsposten).
The income statement includes earnings (Erträge) and expenses
(Aufwendungen) of the past financial year.

The Jahresabschluss is filed at the competent Finanzamt (revenue
office). Since mobile.de has its registered office in Hamburg, the
Finanzamt of Hamburg is competent.
