Hello kivo-ga,
Welcome back. You?ve asked another very interesting question. I was
amazed at the number of ?worst country? lists I was able to find.
Since you didn?t specify strict criteria for including a country on
the worst list, I?ve organized the material I?ve found to help you
draw your own conclusions. As you can imagine, most of the countries
suffering the worst are also among the poorest and least developed.
The information I?ve found definitely gives us a lot of food for
thought.
Best wishes for your project.

CPJ Names World's Worst Places to Be a Journalist
New York, May 3, 2002?The Committee to Protect Journalists marks World
Press Freedom Day by naming the world's worst places to be a
journalist?10 places whose dangers and restrictions represent the full
range of current threats to press freedom.
At the top of the list is the West Bank, where Israeli prime minister
Ariel Sharon's government has used extraordinary force to keep
journalists from covering its recent military incursion. Next is
Colombia, where violent reprisals against the press by all factions in
the civil conflict have made this the most deadly beat in the Western
Hemisphere. Meanwhile, dangers persist in Afghanistan, where eight
journalists were killed in the line of duty in late 2001, and where
U.S. government actions have hindered independent reporting on the
war. CPJ also placed Eritrea, Belarus, Burma, Zimbabwe, Iran,
Kyrgyzstan, and Cuba on the list of worst places to be a journalist.

Best and worst countries to play the stock market
Sometimes the best performing markets are your best bet when
investing. If you check the history of a market, and it looks fairly
solid, perhaps you should invest. But the biggest investments actually
could come in countries that are found in the above "worst" list.
These countries have nowhere to go but up, and companies in these
countries can be bought very inexpensively.

`Quality of water in India among the worst'
New Delhi March 5. A world water development report of the United
Nations has categorised India among the worst countries for poor
quality of water, as well as their ability and commitment to improve
the situation.
The report ranks 122 countries according to the quality of their water
as well as their ability and commitment to improve the situation.
Belgium is considered the worst basically because of the low quantity
and quality of its groundwater combined with heavy industrial
pollution and poor treatment of waste water. It is followed by
Morocco, India, Jordan, Sudan, Niger, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Central
African Republic and Rwanda.
