I remember a few weeks after 9/11 they had a nationally televised
concert at Yankee Stadium.

There were several big stars who sang: Bette Midler sang "Hero" and
there were lots of others....but one person caught my eye and I never
did find out who he was:

He was a heavy set person who sang an Irish death tribute...I don't
know the name of the song, but it was beautiful.

Does anyone know the name of this singer and/or the name of the song
he sang during this tribute??

Dead sgopal3:

Is this is person you're looking for?

If so, the song he sang was "God Bless America":

I'm not sure if this is it, which is why this is a clarification request. =)

Amazing....yes this is the guy.

Ronan Tynan

I don't remember him singing the classic version of God Bless America,
but he put a unique Irish twist to it...simply superb.

Thanks a lot! I will order the CD.
