I am looking for examples of the actual original US successful cases
(briefs)submitted to the court by legal firms on behalf of clients in
connection with "bait and switch" deceptive advertizing cases - e.g.
FTC Vs Pantron I Corp - especially if there is anything to do with
coupons or credits against future purchases. An example of what I
want in an unrelated case can be found at:
http://www.eff.org/Legal/Cases/SJG/complaint.sjg
or http://www.eff.org/Legal/Cases/SJG/
and look up complaint.sjg

Thanks for the question!

A couple of questions:
1. The example you posted is a "complaint" - must it be a pleading
such as a complaint, or will an opinion of the court deciding the
issue fulfill your need?

2. The case you mentioned is a federal action. There are myriad state
cases available under state consumer protection acts. Are state cases
acceptable?

Reported opinions from courts of appeal (and U.S. District Courts) are
fairly available. Uncovering complaints and other pleadings is much
more difficult unless it is a particularly interesting case drawing
broad attention.

Looking forward to your clarification. Thanks again!

1 Thanks so much for a great and quick response - I am looking for the
complaint not the ruling of the court - as you rightly point out that
is easy to come by

2 State cases are OK so long as I get the original filing so I can see
exactly what they said and how they phrazed the complaint

3. Just one or two examples is what I am after and the more public or
popular the case so much the better - as it should be well researched
and well written.

Hope this helps

And thanks so much
