Hello.

Yes, mutual funds can hold other mutual funds, and such funds do exist.

Here's an article about such funds on TheStreet.com:
"Funds of Funds: Diversification ... but at a Price"
http://www.thestreet.com/funds/hayden/721298.html

Also see:

"Fund of funds not as diversified as some might think," from fundadvice.com
http://www.fundadvice.com/QA/cbs/cbs092302.html

As explained in the articles, such funds typically consist of a
porfolio of the mutual fund company's own funds. For example,
"Fidelity Freedom 2040 Fund" is a mutual fund that invests in other
Fidelity mutual funds.
http://content.members.fidelity.com/mfl/0/content/1,,315792101,00.html

On the other hand, there are some mutual funds that invest in mutual
funds of other companies. An example would be the "Integrity Fund of
Funds." See the holdings at Integrity Mutual Funds' web site:
http://www.integritymf.com/PortalIntegrityMF/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabindex=1&tabid=14&fund=50

-------

search strategy:
"funds hold other mutual funds"
"FundManager Aggressive"
"Integrity Fund of Funds"

I hope this helps.
