Yes, mutual funds can hold other mutual funds, and such funds do exist.

porfolio of the mutual fund company's own funds. For example,
"Fidelity Freedom 2040 Fund" is a mutual fund that invests in other
Fidelity mutual funds.

On the other hand, there are some mutual funds that invest in mutual
funds of other companies. An example would be the "Integrity Fund of
