we would like to come up with a list of most commonly used french /
german / swedish / spanish / dutch words in the form of a downloadable
file. These lists, each of which will be several thousand words long,
are to be integrated into a software application which performs a
lookup against them.

Thanks for this - I think that what we are looking for is a little bit
different although the problem is no doubt my phrasing of the
question. I believe that the term appropriate for the list we are
looking for is a STOP LIST - so really what we are looking for is the
most extensive stop list in each of the languages. Possible?
