Your friend will need to use a power converter. Electricity in the USA in delivered at 120 volts, 60hz. Russia's standard is 240 volts, 50hz. You don't have to know the physics behind what that means, but your friend will need to buy a converter, actually A "high power" converter since a paint sprayer is a high wattage device. Radio Shack has several options available on their web site, here is one that looks promising http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&product%5Fid=273-1410 If possible, your friend should confirm the wattage on her paint sprayer to make certain that the power converter can handle it. The Eastern European Adoption Coalition has more detailed information on the sort of thing she'll need at http://www.eeadopt.org/home/preparing/travel/tips/power_converters.htm (search terms used to provide this answer "russia power converter") |
