A waitress friend of mine informed me that she is not permitted to
take any breaks at work. Now, here's what I've always heard:
>6 hours: 2 paid 15 min breaks, and 1 unpaid 30 min break.
<6 hours: 2 paid 15 min breaks.

She insists that this law does not apply to restaurants, which seems
ludicrous to me. So I went online to find the law or code or
whatever, but to no avail. Not even virginialaborlaw.com could answer
my question within my attention span.
So my question is this:
Where can I find information about Federal/State/Municipal labor laws
in Virginia Beach, VA? Specifically, how much break-time is a
restaurant employee is entitled to under law? Thanks in advance!

The Virginia law regarding employee work breaks was quite well
explained in this earlier Google answer:

Is there any information that you need that is NOT included in that
answer?

Thanks!
