I would like to locate an e-commerce server in Cyprus. I would need to know:
1. Who are the major ISPs in Cyprus?
2. How much will it cost to host my own server there?
3. Will I have problems if I my clientelle are mostly in the US. ?
4. Are there other companies who are located in Cyprus and give
internet based services to North American audience?

Hello inon-ga,

I can answer your first question for you quite unambiguously, and can
provide perspective for your second question as well.

The third question is more difficult, because "problems" can mean so many things.  

Plenty of customers who sign on with ISPs in the U.S. wind up having
problems of one sort or another.  I'm sure there are customers in
Cyprus who experience problems as well.  Cyprus certainly appears to
have sophisticated web-hosting companies that should be able to meet
most needs, but beyond this general sort of statement, I'm not sure
how question #3 can really be answered in a clear-cut fashion.

Can you give me some additional perspective on what sort of answer to
#3 you were hoping for.  In particular, are there specific problems
you were anticipating due to customers being in the U.S. rather than
in Cyprus?

As for question #4, I'm just now beginning to look into it, and will
let you know what I find.

In part 3, my meaning is: will my US client's user experience be
deminished by the fact the servers are located abroad and not in the
US itself.
