My favorite answer to this appeared in the opening of a 1960's book on astrology: "The purpose of living is to discover the purpose of living." -=clouseau=- |

From the Bibles point of view. Ecclesiastes 12;13. "The conclusion of the matter, everything having been heard, is ; Fear the true God and keep His commandments. For this is the whole obligation of man". Computers have a separate life of their own. |

I suscribe to the following to some extent. http://www.skywatch-research.org/Astroecology.htm "It is the human purpose to safeguard and propagate Life and to establish Life as a governing force throughout the universe." |

Often I've been told me that the purpose of my life is to help others. Well and good. But, if that is so, what is the purpose of the lives of the "others?" Why is there "everything" instead of "nothing?" When the chronosynclastic infundibulum was born, did it have a navel? How many angels can dance on the head of Sarah Michelle Gellar? I'd better quit. Thinking about these sorts of things foozles my mind, and eventually I become cosmatose. |

That is why we have religion. There are some thing that cannot be explained, things that are out of our control, and life is one of them. The more you think about these things, the less you understand, at least seam to. The sad thing is you cannot have true peace, until you find purpose in life. The purpose of life is not to live, but to discover your purpose on earth of all planets in and out of our galaxy, and convince yourself without doubt. Even if you discover your purpose when your time is close, you have acomplished your task. Observer-GA |
