Question ID: 338808
I would like to find manufacturing resources capable of producing (in
quantity) LED (or other optical systems if applicable) sensor pads for
use as golf launch monitor or swing analyzers. These systems will
either look at the golf club head or ball or both at point of launch.
I want to contract with a manufacturer to produce such a sensor pad to
my spec. I don't need software or other components--just the actual
sensor system. Any of the pads used in the following systems would
work--visiting these sites will educate you on what I am looking
for--I need to get to one or more (preferably more)manufacturing
sources for these. Check out:

Clarification: A simpler way to post my question would be to say that
I'd like to identify the actual manufacturer or maunfacturers of the
sensor pads used in the products covered in the three provided links.

I'm not so sure this is going to be a simple matter of a *single*
sensor or transducer, whether optical or pressure/strain type
measurement (or both, for that matter). Take a look at what you're
really analyzing here: not only (a). position, but (b). velocity and
(c). direction.
With the links provided, yes, they look to be single sensor unit, but
there are most likely several pieces of sensor components in each
unit.
And you also state that you don't want to be concerned with something
like software and/or firmware. I don't think you can "divorce"
yourself from the software aspects, since this is going to be rather
application specific, and you're going to need some sort of software
to either calibrate it or test it or etc.
In any event, to help you get started, you can probably try going over
to http://www.omega.com - they specialize in transducers/sensors of
all types.
Hope this helps.. let me know if you any further questions.

Sorry if I made this sound more involved than it is. The companies
that sell the sensor pads located at the three links provided likely
acquired their technology from a supplier that actually produced those
pads. All I want is to get contact with one or more suppliers of this
type. I'll handle the rest. In other words, if you can tell me who
produced the sensor pads that the other three companies produced, you
will have more than answered my question.
