What does the name Ebay mean? This is just out of curiosity.

Hi Chance0110,

Believe it or not Ebay is Ebay simply because its Founder and Chairman
of the Board, Pierre Omidyar, at first wanted Echobay, since, "it had
a nice sound to it." But fate intervened...

I always thought it was Pig Latin for "be," but I guess I was wrong.
