Howdy b9919600-ga,

The United States Census Bureau is in charge of the U.S. Standard Industrial
Classification (SIC) system, which has now been replaced by the North American
Industry Classification System (NAICS.) SIC codes are still in place in some
industries and there is plentiful information on the Census Bureau web site.
http://www.census.gov/epcd/www/naics.html

"Also available at this site are ... tables showing correspondence between
NAICS 97 and SIC ..."

As to the Federal Express Corporation, usually referred to as "FedEx," one
can imagine that their operations are wide spread, so in turn they have many
major product numbers, also known as SIC numbers or codes.

First, from a U.s. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) entry on FedEx.
http://www.sec.gov/divisions/corpfin/organization/cf2003f.htm

"FEDERAL EXPRESS CORP [SIC] 4513"

From a Census 1987 SIC table, we can identify what 4513 covers.
http://www.census.gov/cgi-bin/epcd/srchnaics97defs

"SIC 4513 Air Courier Services"

We can find out more applicable SIC codes for the transportation industry, to
which FedEx belongs, in the Pennsylvania State University Libraries document
"Supply Chain Industry Definitions." I have edited some of the following so
as to provide some ease in reading the SIC codes.
http://www.libraries.psu.edu/business/SupplyChain/industrydefinitions.htm

"The transportation and logistics service industry consists of a range of
business involved in the manufacturing, warehousing, selling, transportation
and distribution of goods."
...
The following are some of the major SIC codes relating to the transportation
and logistics service industry ..."

4011 Railroads, line-haul operating
4222 Refrigerated warehousing and storage
4225 General warehousing and storage
4412 Deep sea foreign transportation of freight
4424 Deep sea domestic transportation of freight
4449 Water transportation of freight
4512 Courier services, except by air
4513 Air courier services
4731 Freight transportation arrangement
7371 Computer programming services
7372 Prepackaged software
7373 Computer integrated systems design

America's List sells business lists, with SIC references, including one titled
"America's Transportation & Service Database." From this page we get more.
Again, edited to remove duplicate entries and to make it easier to read.
http://www.americaslists.com/business/atsd.htm

4121 Taxicabs & transportation service
4212 Delivery service
4213 Trucking-motor freight
4214 Movers
5113 Packaging materials
7359 Moving supplies & equipment
7389 Packaging service

Further SIC codes that might be applicable can be found on this Census page,
"1987 SIC ... Transportation, Communication, and Utilities."
http://www.census.gov/epcd/naics/NSIC4.HTM

42 Motor freight transportation and warehousing
4215 Courier Services Except by Air
4221 Farm Product Warehousing and Storage
4226 Special Warehousing and Storage
4231 Terminal and Joint Terminal Maintenance Facilities

44 Water transportation
4432 Freight Transportation on the Great Lakes

45 Transportation by air
4522 Air Transportation, Nonscheduled

47 Transportation services
4783 Packing and Crating

There might be more, now that FedEx has acquired Kinko's, for instance.
http://www.fedex.com/us/about/news/update/officeprint.html?link=4

"At a Dallas event Monday morning, FedEx Corp. unveiled the new brand identity
for recently acquired Kinko's retail locations: FedEx Kinko's Office and Print
Center."

Because of this and other FedEx services, you might want to reference this
Census page.
http://www.census.gov/epcd/naics/NSIC8A.HTM#S73

"73 Business services"

If you need any clarification, feel free to ask.
