What is responsible for a fatal exception error 0E 0028:00000017, 0E
0028:00000013 and 0D 0246:014747FB and 0D 197a:0147268B in Win 98se?
Every time i try to access "my computer" or try to type a web address
it hangs, then the blue-screen-of-death appears and gives that
message. It drives me mad.
Thanks. |

Hi,
Thank you for your question.
Do you have McAfee installed?
If you do, please have a look here:
"Fatal Exception 0E Has Occurred" Error Message Appears While Browsing
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;316520
If you don't, what are the complete error messages please?
Thanks.

further clarification:
I don't have mcafee installed. i thinks it's something to do with EZ
CD Creator 5.
The error message is:
" A fatal exception error 0E has occurred at 0028:00000013" it gives
you the option of restarting or going back to windows. when you press
any button to go back to windows it then gives you "A fatal exception
error 0D has occurred at 0246:014747FB" and the same options. you
press any key and you go back to windows.
This only happens when tyring to look at anything that can explorer
the contents of my drives c: d:(cdrw) e:(cd rom) but not a: However
can only access a: through the "run" command. Thing like etrust EZ
Antivirus won't explore and cause the screen to crash and give that
message. When trying to save documents in the like of word / excel
etc. etc. you can't explore the system 'cos it crahses, again giving
the bule screen of death.
Hope this info helps.

To confirm your suspicion you can try disabling the antivirus from
running at windows startup, if you don't find this option in the
antivirus interface try using the msconfig tool.
For reference about using msconfig see the following page:
"How to Use MSCONFIG":
http://netsquirrel.com/msconfig/
Keep us updated about what happens after that so we can continue the
research for a solution to you.

tried that. still no joy. exactly the same things happen. still thinks
that it's EZCD V5. can't uninstall it - won't let me. The anti-virus
software is not responsible.

It is Easy CD creator or EZ CD Creator?
If it is Easy CD Creator try updating it:
