Hi maxholloway,

I was able to find the word 'stark' and translate it from Swedish to English.

I didn't have the same success with Grovkornig. I found many
references to the word within Swedish websites, but was unable to find
a translation.

Here is what I found on the word Stark:
http://lexikon.nada.kth.se/cgi-bin/swe-eng

Swedish entry word
stark [star:k] starkt starka adj.
som har stor styrka, kraftfull (of living creatures; figuratively "powerful")

English translation
strong
as opposed to weak, mild

Examples
starka armar---strong arms
stark regering---strong government
stark kyla---severe cold

*****

Swedish entry word
stark [star:k] starkt starka adj.
som intensivt påverkar sinnena

English translation
strong

Examples
starkt kaffe---strong coffee
stark ost---strong cheese
starka drycker---strong drinks

*****

Swedish entry word
stark [star:k] starkt starka adj.
slitstark, hållbar

English translation
durable, lasting, solid
as opposed to fragile, brittle, perishable

Examples
ett starkt tyg---strong fabric

Hopefully another researcher will have better luck with the other word.

Best regards,
tlspiegel

"Swedish
 grovkornig (coarse grained, rude, scurrilous)"

Here's an example, from a Swedish recipe for Easter pasta salad, of
"stark" and "grovkornig" used together:

"stark grovkornig senap"

http://www.hopkok.net/index.php?page=view_recipe&recipeid=298

This translates as "strong coarse-grained mustard."
