I very much doubt if you will be able to get the medals that your
parents should have received for their services in WW2.

Do you know which branch they served?

And do you have any other details, like which medals?

Thanks for your reply
Yes the details of my parents are as follows
Mother Reg No W / 173405 Royal Army Pay Corps RAPC 40th detachment London
Father Reg No 19099099 1st Batalion Royal Sussex Reg. 64 Lorry
Infantry Brigade, Light Armoured Division, Motor Transport. Egypt
Peace keeping force.

Unsure of what medals.

Having got these details, particularly their Army Numbers, is great
and I would suggest that you now apply for "Proofs of Service".

These are available free-of-charge from the Army Personnel Centre
whose email address is:

apcsec@btconnect.com

Let them have all the details and your postal address.

Experience shows that the APC does not acknowledge emails and it could
be several weeks before the Certificates arrive, by snail mail.

Even if you are unable to obtain their medals (which I very much
doubt) the Proofs of Service could be valuable mementos.

Best Wishes

Bryan

Hi Geoffh,

My grandad just sent off for his WWII medals about a month ago -
following much pestering from my brother.

I don't know any details though, but I'll ask him next time I see him - Sunday
