Hello mehta-ga

Here is some information along the lines of your query.

Haysworks recruitment agency claims to have the largest database of
candidates and jobs in the UK. Their salary surveys are broken down
by key job titles and geographical locations and are presented as pdf
files which give a minimum-to-maximum salary range They also offer a
specific salary analysis based on your industry sector, company size,
turnover and town, but do not indicate whether or not this is free.

The job site monster.co..uk has the following:
Human resources salary survey, by sector:

IT salaries in banking and finance, high, low, mean and freelance
earnings http://technology.monster.co.uk/articles/salarysurveyit/

TMP sales and marketing salary survey by region, sector and job

Executive Connections recruitment agency has surveys for accounting
and banking and finance, however, these give a range with no regional
information, although some are broken down by other criteria such as
company size. Surveys are viewable online or downloadable in pdf

University pay scales from the web site of the Association of
University Teachers (the scales are not just for teaching staff)
http://www.aut.org.uk/ Click on “campaigning”, then “pay and
conditions” and scroll down to select “salary scales”. Available as
pdf or Excel files

Totaljobs.com salary checker is broken down by region, sector and job
title. However, you need to make a separate search for each type of
job and location. http://www.totaljobs.com/salary_checker/salary_checker.asp?
A similar facility is available at Salary Search
http://www.salarysearch.co.uk/default.asp

I think this should give you a start. However, do get back to me with
a clarification request if you think I can help you further.

Search strategy: I started by searching on Google for "salary surveys"
UK and then branched out by following various links on the pages I
retrieved in the search

Hi

Thanks for the work

ButI need general surveys so that I can benchmark what the salary
increases should be this year in my company in the w midlands region.
I have the birmingham Chamber survey but its only based on a sample of
290 companies - I know Adecco have published one but I cant find it -
it needs to be free - I need to locate more similar surveys ; our
industry is food, packing and distribution ; with FMCG
characteristics.

I need the surveys in a simple to follow format where I dont have to
serch huge databases on line

regards

Parveen

Hello Parveen,

I thought that you were looking for specifics, because you said you
wanted the scales to be by sector, job type and region. Anyway, I've
had another look for more-general information.

Since you expressed interest in the Adecco surveys, I searched for
them first. The Adecco surveys are on their web site at
http://www.adecco.co.uk/press/release1.htm There is a separate Word
document for each region, which can be downloaded. The wording at the
top of the page "full regional surveys can be downloaded form the
bottom of this page" implies that these are the complete reports,
although they are not particularly detailed. According to their data,
West Midlands saw the highest rises in the country, with pay levels
being 5.5% higher than last year.

The CBI issues data on pay settlements in its press releases. These
are not regional, but may give you a further feel for things. Go to
http://www.cbi.org.uk/, click on "Press Center" and then on "Press
releases, by date" The latest figures are dated June 14. You will be
taken to a summary of the findings, and below that there is a link to
a pdf file with graphical data. These are comparisons between the
service and manufacturing sectors.

I did search quite extensively, but I'm afraid I did not find anything
more specific to your sector.
