Hello nugget,
I believe you mean ?Kabuki Syndrome?, so named because the facial
features of patients with this syndrome reminded doctors of the
Kabuki actors of traditional Japanese theater.
Kabuki syndrome was first "discovered" in 1980, in Japan, as you
already knew, and believed possibly to be caused by a defective
chromosome. Symptoms are very diverse patient to patient, and only
100 to 300 cases have been documented. Children are learning disabled,
suffer hearing loss, have skeletal abnormalities and easily
recognizable facial features. They are usually hypersensitive to
touch. There is no cure.
