Hi

I use a Hotmail account and have recently noticed I am receiving email
up to two days after they are sent even though my account is nowhere
near full. Can anyone tell me why this might be and suggest an
alternative if needs be? I'd be happy to pay monthly or whatever for a
reliable one that gets stuff to me when it is sent! I'd like to be
able to access the emails from any computer if possible.

Many thanks!!

Hi! Thanks for the question.

Here are very good alternatives to Hotmail.

Mail.com
www.mail.com

I have heard from a friend that Fastmail is good.

Great stuff-and thanks for the fast answer!

Is it worth investing in a paid for email program? And is there a way
around the hotmail delay i am experiencing?

Cheers!!

...Preferably i'd like to be able to choose the last bit of the
address e.g dave@amazingdave.com. That would be great!!

Hi again!

It seems that the delay problem is internal and maybe fixed by
notifying the support group at Hotmail.

Your other questions were "Is it worth investing in a paid for email
program?" and "Preferably i'd like to be able to choose the last bit
of the
address e.g dave@amazingdave.com.".

With all the free email programs around, I think (just my opinion)
that paying for email services isn't really a good idea plus you also
get free email from your ISP. Getting a customized address meanwhile
can be solved by acquiring a domain name and hosting, just like the
suggestion of rjain-ga.

Thanks!

You may want to look at registering your own domain and have a
professional email like; me@markboy.com. This is extremely cheap to
get these days. Look at these sites on how much this can cost... trust
me you will be surprised:

http://www.godaddy.com
http://www.1and1.com

I wouldn't recommend using 1and1.com as a domain registrar. Sure their
hosting service is excellent but their domain registration services
have a lot to be desired.

godaddy.com is reputable and so is ev1servers.net (formerly, rackshack.net).

Unless you want to spend your day killing pop-ups, I would avoid mail.com

Try www.cotse.net - it couldn't really be better, and run by guys you
can communicate with (live), with excellent spam-killing features.
