When Notre Dame was hiring Ara Parsegian as its football coach after
the 1963 season,there was a  meeting between Parsegian and Father
Hesburg and Ara walked out. Why?

Are you sure that Fr Hesburgh was involved?

I've located references to the coach walking out of a December '63
meeting with Father Edmond Joyce, who was chairman of ND's athletic
board at the time.
