Greetings, M. Gigacz!
A good place to look for answers to questions about any given website
is in its FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions), if it has one. One link to
Google Answers FAQ can be found at the bottom of the main Google
Answers page, and the URL is:
http://answers.google.com/answers/faq.html .
Unfortunately, Google Answers is not accepting applications for
Researchers at this time.
"Google Answers Researchers
5. How do I sign up to become a Researcher?
Because of an overwhelming response by qualified candidates, we are
temporarily not accepting additional applications. Please check back
with us again, as we likely will begin accepting applications again in
the near future."

There is also a link labeled "Become A Researcher" at the bottom of the FAQ page:
http://answers.google.com/answers/apply
When applications are being taken, this page provides a way for
interested individuals to apply to be Researchers. However, this link
currently leads to a page with the same text as that from the FAQ
shown above.
To save you frustration, I will be honest and let you know that, to
the best of my knowledge, Google Answers has not been taking
applications since I became a Researcher over a year and a half ago.
That doesn't mean that they won't ever take applications again. It
just means that no one knows when (or if) they will do so.
However, you do have the ability as a Google Answers user to add
Comments to Questions on Google Answers. Depending on your interest
and your other time commitments, doing this may be something you would
enjoy.
Best wishes,
