I'm looking for news stories that give examples of the dangers of letting conference delegates in with Wi-Fi-capable notebooks or PDAs. For instance, how a "mob" forms at an AGM when audience members are in a chat room listening to presentations... confidential pics being leaked out and posted online immediately... etc. |

Check out how some people use Wi-Fi in the courtroom on both sides of the isle: www.ctc8.net/presentations/E-18_Wireless_LANs.pdf Confidential information could be leaked out and posted immediately. There is also the danger of some people hacking other people's laptops. Check out how professional "black-hatters" hack each other's laptops at Defcon - THE hacker convention. This is as about as extreme as hacking gets in conferences: http://www.nwfusion.com/columnists/2003/0825schwartau.html |
