“Isn’t This SPECIAL!!” (to quote the Churchlady):
Thanks for the interesting question.
In 1983-84, Bob Ayres executive produced eight episodes of a
critically acclaimed cable series, "The Other Cafe's Comedy Showcase"
that starred Dana Carvey, Kevin Nealon, Ellen Degeneres, Carol Leifer,
Kevin Pollak, Will Durst, and which won gold, silver and bronze medals
at the International Film and Television Festival of New York.

But the show that you are probably thinking about was “The Dana Carvey
Show” which ran 8 episodes on Thursday nights in 1996. There are
quite a few interesting comments on the dynamics of the show at this
site: http://www.jumptheshark.com/d/danacarvey.htm

The episodes are described here:

There are a number of interesting sites found on GOOGLE when searching

Sorry that is not the correct answer. This was a western and there was
only one episode ever aired to my knowledge. It never really made it
out of pilot.

There apparently was a pilot that did not make into an episodic run
that involved Dana Carvey in some sort of Western role. There is no
amplifying information available beyond the above.
