OK, I'm looking for a CD by a band called Norman Bates and the
Showerheads, an 80's punk band local to Queens, NY. They only
released one album, in 1989, with the same title as the band. It was
on a label called Desperate Records. There are twelve tracks:

Here they come (not another insect story)
I give up
Hellminded
Mailman
Frustrusion
Tarantula
A salesman of death
Pseudo world
Desperate
Woody wood
Marlboro man
(I work in a) Graveyard

I'm aware that two or three of these songs have appeared on other
compilation albums. I'm only interested in a CD. I have the album on
vinyl but it's not in great condition so I can't transfer it to a CD.
I don't even care if the CD is an original as long as it's CD quality.
Any leads to finding this on CD would be greatly appreciated. Track
list and review written in German are at

I don't think you'll be able to find an official CD of this album,
because CD's were pretty new technology and expensive to press in
1989. A smaller, more obscure band probably like Norman wouldn't have
paid to have CD's pressed. I would suggest possibly purchasing a new
vinyl and going to Radioshack and buy a connector that goes from your
headphone out jack of your record player to a mic-in jack in your
computer. Then use the built-in sound recorder in Microsoft window to
record each track separately (save them as wav files). Then burn a CD
with the wav files. As long as you own the original vinyl, you will
not be violating copyright laws for doing this. You could also use a
peer-to-peer network service like Kazaa to see if you can find mp3
files of the album which then can be converted into wav files and
burned onto a CD. Again, since you own the media, you wouldn't be
breaking copyright laws as you are allowed to create a "backup" copy.

Hope this helps!
