Personally I believe in nurture over nature, but here is a study in
its early stages on mice that suggests memory performance and spatial
learning be genetically based. Since males and females inherit genes
differently I guess this qualifies as a study that shows there are
gender differences.

All living beings have certain number of chromosome pairs (for example
human creatures have 23 pairs). All those chromosome pairs except one
are identical for both male and female and called symbolically "XX".
One pair, which is responsible for sex, differs. It has the same shape
"XX" for female, but "XY" for male. So we can see male's second sex
chromosome out of this pair has "Y" shape and lacks some genes. Those
"missing" genes are responsible for resistance against some
genetically transmitted deseases such as hemophilia for instance.

Hopefully it's the answer to your question if I understood it correctly

I appreciate your responses, although neither is what I am looking
for. I am trying to find out if there are any known genetic
differences, that would explain why males are generally better at math
and science and women are better at hands on tasks. I know this is
true in most cases but I am trying to find some hard evidence to back
this up. I am writing a paper on Gender stereotyping in todays
schools. Thank you for you responses, heatherhi
