I am looking for examples of cases where MEN have successfully
resisted crimes such as assault or kidnapping. I am particularly
interested in examples where the person doing the resisting is NOT
armed before hand. In other words, I am not looking for someone who
was carrying a gun and attacked, as much as someone who was attacked
and able to grab something and turn it into a weapon. Example: John
Smith, 42, of New York City, was slightly injured after he wrestled
with a man trying to steal his car. I need these examples ASAP.

From recent news reports, it seems to be largely the WOMEN doing the
fighting back (though there's one example of a man as well).

Are these the types of stories you're after? Any geographic
preferences? And does it really have to be MEN...?

Let me know.

I have found plenty of examples of women being attacked and fighting
off their attackers, but I specifically need men. It doesn't matter
how old the incidents are, but I do need men. Four to five examples
would be enough.

Geographic preference: I prefer US. But if most were US, I could also
use an example from a foreign country.

He was stabbed," Cesky said. The officer died instantly. The second
officer, a female, ran to the attacker and tried to subdue him with
her nightstick. As the larger assailant fought back, Cesky sprinted

The father of a friend of mine was targeted by two muggers who figured
that a white-haired grandfather in his seventies would be a pushover.

Well, they picked the wrong guy because he was an ex-boxer who still
knew how land a telling punch.

He knocked them both out.

Suggest you look in the newspaper morgue about a story that took place
on Penn State campus 8-10 years ago. Demented woman starts sniping
at students on campus, killing or wounding several. Student sees her,
intercedes, she tries to shoot him, the gun jams, she attacks with a
hunting knife. He redirects the attack, she stabs herself in the
thigh - and he renders first-aid and hold her for authorities. When
interviewed by the press, his response was that the story was about
those injured, not him.
