Amazon.com has a Japanese site. I'm not sure if you can raed the characters, but if you can check out http://www.amazon.co.jp/exec/obidos/search-handle-form/249-2612803-8483540 If they don't have it there, you can always post a note about wanting a used copy. One thing to remember though is that they are in DVD region 2. If that is a problem, you might have to find a place to get it converted. Hope this helps. |

Unfortunately, these three films don't appear to be available on VHS or DVD. If you go to IMDB (Internet Movie Data Base) and check under the filmography for Kurosawa: http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0000041/ Then click on the titles of each of those three films (they're listed with their original, Japanese titles), that will bring up a close-up page on that film. At the top right of that new page you'll see a box for links where you can purchase the DVD or VHS of the film. But the links for purchasing these three films don't work, leaving me to assume these titles aren't available on DVD or VHS. I also tried searching Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble Online (http://wwww.bn.com), but I didn't have any luck. It's a shame that these films don't appear to be available because, as you well know, Kurosawa was one of the most important and influential directors of all time. ALL of his works should be on DVD. I hope another researcher has better luck than I did. Regards, nancylynn-ga Google Answers Researcher |

One of the three films, "Shizukanaru Ketto", is available at: www.facets.org The only other information I have for you presently is that the film "Uma" was directed by Kajiro Yamamoto. Kurosawa was assistant director on that film. If I can track down this one and "Those Who Make Tomorrow," I will post my total findings as an answer. scribe_ga |
