Take a look at A9.com - amazon's search engine. They have this
toolbar, and it has a diary feature that I have wanted for a LONG LONG
TIME.
Basically, you can make a comment on a webpage (not a public comment,
just for your eyes); then, if you return to that site, you can see
your comments.
If you don't know what I mean - download the A9.com toolbar (quick browser plugin).
So I like that - but I don't like internet explorer. I want to be
able to do this in firefox. Or maybe there is a stand alone
application that just watches where you browse. something like that.
Anyone point me in the right direction?

Take a look at Furl:
http://www.furl.net/index.jsp
Furl can be added to Firefox (or to Internet Explorer,
Mozilla/Netscape, Opera, Safari, NetCaptor, or Avant).
Furl enables you to share your entries, or keep them private. It's up to you.
Please let me know if this sounds like a good solution.

hi freud - that is pretty close, though not quite. You had me excited
there, for a second.
1) want it just to work like the a9 one does - small thing that sits
in the browser, and prior comments just pop up if you return to the
same page again.
2) furl is nice...but you have to go back to furl to see what you had
saved - seems like a slight improvement on bookmarking, but not much.
thanks for the shot tho...got any others for me?

thought of another clarification...you know those little programs that
you can use to create "post it notes" on your desktop...well,
essentially what i want is that for when i'm browsing, but i also want
my note to pop up if i have returned to the page.
