Hello delaplla,
The Governor of the Bahamas on February 12, 1943 was the Duke of
Windsor. He was appointed Governor of the Bahamas in 1940, a position
he held until 1945.
?During the Second World War, the Duke of Windsor escaped from Paris,
where he was living at the time of the fall of France, to Lisbon in
1940. The Duke of Windsor was then appointed Governor of the Bahamas,
a position he held until 1945. He lived abroad until the end of his
life, dying in 1972 in Paris (he is buried at Windsor).?

?His brief reign -- only 326 days -- was overshadowed by his decision
to abdicate; as a divorcee, Simpson was considered inappropriate to
become queen.?

Windsor. He served as Governor of the Bahamas from 1940 to 1945, and
