Question ID: 342986
--I am trying to connect a Canon ZR50 DV camcorder to a Panasonic
DMR-E100HS DVD recorder by using a firewire cable.

--The camcorder has a mini 5-pin firewire output and the dvd recorder
has a 4-pin firewire input.

--I have been unable to find a 5-pin to 4-pin firewire cable anywhere
and I am not sure that they exist.

I DO have both a mini 5-pin to USB firewire cable (that fits the
camcorder), and a 4-pin to USB cable (that fits the DVD player).

Questions:

1. Is there any easy way to connect a mini 5-pin to 4-pin using firewire?

2. If that is not possible, is there such a thing as a
female-to-female usb cable that can connect the two ends of the USB
cables that I currently have and make them into one continuous cable?
Would such a setup work?

3. Where can I buy the cable(s) that woud make this setup possible.

Thanks.

http://www.cabletech.com

Go to their web site and get their phone number and call them. They
have every cable known to man. They don't have much on their web site
but, they will build any type of cable that you need. They are very
reasonable. My company uses them as our primary cable supplier.
