I am considering in building a Ramada behing my home, next to the pool. I live in Scottsdale Arizona. I would like to see ramadas images either in the web or in publications, to take ideas in how to build or to order mine from a constructor. I have searched the Web and found only a few images of ramadas. The ramada I have in mind so far is 12 feet in diameter, with 5 columns made of cantera carved stone, about 8" each column. The top will be covered by tiles and the tiles will rest on wood logs. The top will have 5 sides, and the top will be about 2.5 feet tall. The columns will be about 6' 8" tall. I would like some kind of fine ramada. The pourpose of the ramada is to give shadow to a table and some chairs, to be used for breakfast, lunches and snacks during the day. When I searched for the ramadas I used -inn and -hotel in order to narrow the search but no much was found. I was not able to find ramada specialists in the yellow pages or in the Web. Some advertised ramadas but they didn't have much experience with them. I had a local landscaper who came to my home and he didn't know much about ramadas either. Thanks. |

Dear edduu-ga; Thank you for allowing me an opportunity to answer your interesting question. I found a number of images that I think would interest you. At the very least they give you a good idea of what is possible. Further down I have provided at least one company that can even create a realistic image of your design (no matter how intricate) on a computer to specification for you so you can see how it would really look. Later on, I?ll tell you how to find more images like the ones I am showing you here: This one actually happens to be at a RAMADA INN pool: http://www.cifca.com/LogosSounds/RamadaPool.JPG Here is a standard wooden one but it gives a good example of pitch as well as jointing: ALBUQUERQUE AWNING http://www.albuquerqueawning.com/images/newproducts.jpg This is an example of a very ornate stone ramada, complete with fireplace: SOUTHWEST RAMADAS http://www.swramada.com/ I am including other examples from this same source, which appears to be quite prolific at building these beautiful yet functional structures. Some of them are just down right amazing. Here are the ones that attracted my attention the most: (Links courtesy of SOUTHWEST RAMADAS) http://www.swramada.com/styles/masonry/masonry-19.html http://www.swramada.com/styles/masonry/masonry-20.html http://www.swramada.com/styles/masonry/masonry-21.html http://www.swramada.com/styles/masonry/masonry-21.html http://www.swramada.com/styles/masonry/masonry-12.html You can view a number of various styles through other links on their site: Masonry styles: http://www.swramada.com/styles/masonry.html Viga Latilla style: http://www.swramada.com/styles/viga-latilla.html Wood: http://www.swramada.com/styles/other_wood.html Aluminum: http://www.swramada.com/styles/aluminum.html Other styles: http://www.swramada.com/styles/miscellaneous.html Artist?s Concepts: http://www.swramada.com/concepts.html Here are some other sources for examples: INTRICATE BUILDERS LLC http://www.intricatebuilders.com/ ARTISTIC LANDSCAPE DESIGN http://www.ald-phx.com/ramada.htm (Specializes in ? among other things ? designing ramadas to the homeowner?s specifications using realistic computer graphics) Below you will find that I have carefully defined my search strategy for you in the event that you need to search for more information. Before I submitted my question I searched myself. You have given me the same information I already had. Your answer gives 12 links to the same company, "swramada". Your answer has not any value to me. This is the first time I use your service and I am very disappointed. |
