Looking for apples to apples census data + commentary, analysis,
trends, interpretations.

Need the following for each city listed AND ITS PMSA:
- Current population (2000 or later)
- Age demography
- Race demography
- Population and demographic trends - analysis and commentary, e.g.,
brain drain, racial divide between city and suburbs, significant local
populations such as Korean-Americans, aging population, etc.

Other information that will help me characterize the local/regional
population and demography, with trends.

Do not need income, housing, educational attainment.

Links are fine - you do not have to post the data in your answer. I am
looking to you to save me some search time.

Clarification of Question by shikibobo-ga on 08 May 2004 07:29 PDT
In response to pafalafa:

For the basic data, links to the Census data is adequate. I do not
want the actual data posted here - too lengthy. I am familiar with the
standard Census report you posted here - there is some data in there
that is helpful and other data that is not - see original question.

I want not just the census data but also, importantly, commentary and
analysis on the data trends and the import of those trends. This
analysis and commentary could come from the local papers.

I need to do 2 things: (1) plug data into a comparative table, and (2)
write up a profile of each city's population, demography, and trends.

If the newspaper articles you find require a login, please post the
article text or relevant excerpts. I guess I don't mind a free
registration or two if I have to.

I have no objection to pafalafa continuing on with an answer, but
please remove the lengthy post.

Please post another request for clarification if necessary.

Thank you for your help.

Shikibobo --

Are you familiar with Claritas' PRIZM tools? They try to characterize
city populations with demographic groups:
